The Susan G. Komen 3-Day is a 60-mile walk over the course of three days where participants raise money for breast cancer research. The Susan G. Komen 3-Day has had more than 500,000 participants and raised more than $863 million – supporting more than 2,700 research projects and more than 500 clinical trials.

Athens Area Diaper Bank
National Diaper Need Awareness Week is September 24 – October 2! Diapers cost over $1,000 every year, a cost that 1 in 3 families struggle with in the U.S., and government assistance programs, like food stamps and WIC, do not cover diapers. There are 8,000 children in the Athens area at risk of experiencing diaper need. The Athens Area Diaper Bank provides over 25,000 diapers every month to families in need.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Did you know that treatments for pediatric cancer can last up to three years or more and cost on average $425,000, including housing, travel, and food?
St. Jude’s, along with help from volunteers, does extraordinary work providing care and support to children and their families: from treatment and travel to and housing and food. Donations received help St. Jude’s carry out this work, as well as protect the special connections within families that are experiencing health concerns.

CURE Childhood Cancer
CURE Childhood Cancer is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through research funding and patient support. The tangible impact of a $1,000 donation can provide 167 meals, 7 nights of lodging, 10 counseling sessions and additional financial assistance with transportation, utilities and housing.
